Summary:
The Custom Tour Planner is responsible for designing and organizing customized travel itineraries for clients within the hospitality and tourism industry. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of various travel destinations and services. The Custom Tour Planner will work closely with clients to create personalized travel experiences that meet their unique preferences and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
2. Design customized travel itineraries, considering various factors such as destination, accommodation, transportation, activities, and attractions.
3. Research and gather information about travel destinations, including local customs, weather conditions, visa requirements, and health and safety guidelines.
4. Liaise with travel service providers, including airlines, hotels, transportation companies, tour operators, and guides, to ensure seamless execution of the travel plans.
5. Provide clients with detailed information about their travel itineraries, including day-to-day schedules, booking confirmations, and relevant travel documents.
6. Make necessary adjustments to travel plans based on client feedback or changing circumstances.
7. Stay updated on industry trends, new travel destinations, and emerging attractions to offer innovative and unique travel experiences to clients.
8. Resolve any issues or complaints that may arise during the travel process, ensuring customer satisfaction.
9. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, travel arrangements, and expenses.
10. Collaborate with other team members to share knowledge and best practices for creating exceptional travel experiences.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience as a Custom Tour Planner or in a similar role within the travel industry.
3. Strong understanding of various travel destinations, attractions, and services.
4. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and travel service providers.
6. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected situations or changes in travel plans.
7. Proficient in using travel planning software and other relevant tools.
8. In-depth knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements, and health and safety guidelines.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
10. Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences to clients.
